Description

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel 400ml is a facial cleansing gel specifically intended for oily, acne-prone skin. It gently purifies the skin and visibly reduces imperfections while respecting the skin's physiological pH.

It is formulated with soothing and anti-irritant La Roche-Posay thermal water combined with pH optimization technology and a Phytobioma active ingredient helping to target the strain of the bacteria responsible for imperfections to visibly reduce them.

Tested on oily to acne-prone skin.

Made in France.

Directions for use

Lather a small amount of gel in the palm of your hand with a little water and apply it to the face, massaging gently.
Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Avoid the eye area. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately.

Indication: Face cleanser. Oily to acne-prone skin.

Very easy to use - super gentle formula that doesnt stripe your skin off, just leaving it clean and smooth. Really recommend it to everyone who has breakout prone skin

This gel cleanser is great for balancing my oily breakthrough. Micro foaming, the lather deep cleanses but doesn’t l ave my skin dry or taught after. Skin feels soft, clean and rebalanced. Works best with the Effackar duo+ M cream to keep skin matte all day

Its gentle on the skin, leaves my face very clean but at the same time not stripped of all hydration, I particularly love the fresh scent it is ever so subtle!

I’ve had it before and it was great for soothing my problematic skin and calming it down to prevent blemishes. I find it best used with the Effaclar moisturiser for twice the dose of great skincare products. The cleanser has a great lather and softens your skin to feel clear and clean.

On the downside, I found it quite drying on my skin eventhough I am a combo more oily skin, and I personally didn’t enjoy the smell either, it’s not unbearable, just not something I look forward to using. That said, it does lather really well and gives that “super clean” feeling, which works especially well for oily skin types. The good thing is that despite the dryness, it didn’t cause me to break out at all, which is a big plus. In terms of price, I’d say it’s fairly reasonable for a dermatologist-backed brand and the tube lasts a long time, so you do get decent value.

I like that it’s just a few steps and doesn’t feel overwhelming. My skin felt cleaner pretty quickly, and over time I noticed fewer breakouts and less oiliness. It’s not one of those routines that works overnight, but it feels like it’s actually improving your skin instead of just covering things up.
