Effik Polybactum Vaginal Ovule 3 Ovules is a medical device that adheres to the vaginal wall in such a way that it helps to reduce vaginal infections and protect the vagina against their occurrence (especially those with Gardnerella Vaginalis) by creating a barrier effect.
This medical device contains mucoadhesive Polycarbophil and Lauryl Glucoside. Polybactum, thanks to its muco-adhesive properties, opposes the reconstitution of the biofilm produced by Gardnerella Vaginalis. It has a specific and selective bacteriostatic action inhibiting the growth of Gardnerella Vaginalis while sparing the physiological flora.
Polybactum also has an acidifying effect of vaginal pH favoring the growth of the lactobacilli flora.
In women with bacterial vaginosis, Polybactum aims to prevent recurrence.
Each ovule should be introduced deep into the vagina.
Bacterial vaginosis: After appropriate treatment of acute bacterial vaginosis, use Polybactum as follows: 3 ovules (1 every 3 days) for one week. Wait for the end of the menstruations if necessary. Renew for the next 2 cycles (3 treatment cycles in total).
May be used during pregnancy, but should be discontinued if membranes rupture.
