Allergy/dermatitis cause?
I want to add to the eye dermatitis group here - I've been battling EXTREME eye swelling, congiuntivitis, and itching for the last 6 weeks and my life is a nightmare.
After changing all my products, doing rounds of steriods (still on them), every time I stop the issue returns. I do have other contact allergies so I'm definitely a sensitive person (hence the 2 star not 1) but this makeup remover is my top suspect.

Avoid avoid avoid
I feel compelled to come here to the Nivea page to share my experience. I have used double effect for years to remove my waterproof mascara and eyeliner. Nothing else would take it off with such ease and I recommended it to everyone. Then for the last 2 months I have been having issues with recurring styes which have been horrendously painful and I have looked disgusting. My eyes have also been very dry and itchy. I put it down to mascara at first and replaced it. Then ended up replacing every single makeup product including eyelash curlers and pencil sharpeners. Still getting styes. In different places and both eyes. I finally felt resigned that it must be hormonal. Started omega 3’s. Didn’t help. By chance I researched this product and lo and behold there has been a reformulation and reading all the reviews here the penny has dropped. Although some of these go back 2 years? I will no longer be using this toxic product and it should be removed from sale. Goodbye Nivea!

Avoid this product at all costs.
I thought I was allergic to my eyeshadow or mascara, but realise that it’s due to the change in formula for Nivea eye make up remover. As I result I have very painful red and itchy eyelids and bags under my eyes which I didn’t have before. I have had to stop wearing eyeshadow as my eyes are really sore and dry. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. I’ve used it for years but will be an avoiding all Nivea products as a result.

Stop using Nivea Eye Make-Up Remover Immediately!!
I have been using this Nivea eye makeup remover for years, but suddenly the skin above my eyelids is burning and swollen and going dry and flaky. I want my money back and I will not be using Nivea products again. They have always been a trusted brand. Why would they change the formulation of a trusted product, and cause harm to their customers. Even their Double Effect Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover is a problem. An absolute disgrace!!

Absolutely awful
I purchased this for the first time, last week. It removed my eye make-up BUT there was a burning sensation when I used it. The next day my whole eye area was swollen up. I could barely open my eyes. 3 days later I still have dry skin and bags under my eyes. I do not have sensitive skin and I am not allergic to anything - so what on earth is in this product?

Bad reaction
I've used this product yor years and had no problems but have recently had red sore, itchy eyes and reading other reviews I'm not alone. I never considered it could be this product as never reacted to it before instead I put it down to mascara, eyecream or maybe that I developed hay-fever. It got that bad that I stopped using anything on my eyes until it only got better. I started using make up and whenever I removed it would look red and feel itchy. I have stopped using this product and not having any more problems therefore put it down to this.

I'm not the only one with Dermatitis
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this eye makeup remover since 10 years ago but the formula changed some months ago. I noticed dry patches in my eyelids and dry red areas around my eyes. I thought it was a kind of dermatitis. I thought it was my eyeliner or lash mascars but
I noticed it was the eye make up remover. After reading some reviews, I know that im the only one with this problem. This is really disappointing. Why did nivea change its formula? This is a dangerous product, it's not normal to have burning sensation, dry skin patched around the eyes!!!.
