Place the toothbrush along the gumline at a 45° angle. The bristles will enter the gingival sulcus and collect the plaque that has formed there.
Gently brush the outer surface of a group of 2 or 3 teeth using a circular motion from the gums to the teeth.
Repeat this motion on the next group of 2 or 3 teeth, and so on for all the teeth in the arches.
Brush the inner surfaces of the teeth in the same way as the outer surfaces, maintaining the 45° angle between the brush and the gingival sulcus.
For the upper and lower incisors, use a back-and-forth motion using the tip of the toothbrush head.
Finally, brush the occlusal surfaces - those used for chewing - of the molars in a horizontal motion.
